The Turtle and the Scorpion

The Turtle and the Scorpion: A Quick Warning for Cabling & Electrical Clients

The Story

A hardworking Turtle needed to cross a fast-moving river of tight deadlines, strict codes, and rising project demands. Along came a Scorpion—the classic unreliable contractor—asking for a ride across on the Turtle’s sturdy back.

“I can’t swim,” the Scorpion said, “but I’ll handle your cabling and electrical work perfectly. Best materials, full code compliance, no surprises. If I sting you, we both sink. It’s not in my interest.”

The Turtle, tired of past headaches, reluctantly agreed.

Halfway across, as the pressure of schedules and budgets swirled, the Scorpion struck—delivering shoddy terminations, hidden change orders, and disappearing when systems failed.

The Turtle cried, “Why? You promised!”

The Scorpion shrugged as they both started sinking. “It’s in my nature.”

The Lesson

In the cabling and electrical world, too many contractors are Scorpions: charming at the bid stage, toxic in execution. Substandard installs cause outages, safety risks, and costly rework.

You—the Turtle—are the dependable business that deserves better: a partner who actually delivers quality, transparency, and reliability, not excuses.

If your current contractor has already stung you, it’s time to find a real bridge across those troubled waters.
